Since Jack got his iPad, he takes it everywhere he goes. He has it even when we go shopping. However, he never thought he could use a bag, so he only bought a slim case for his iPad and he’s carrying it in his hand. Then guess what? When he needs to pay for the shopping, he turns to me, smiles and and says “would you hold my iPad for a moment, please?”. When we put the groceries in the car, again “would you hold this for a bit?”. I can count perhaps a dozen situations in which I’m asked to hold the iPad for a moment. I’m starting to feel like an iPad stand, believe me!

I can understand he doesn’t care for bags. Before the iPad came out, everything he needed fitted just fine inside his pockets. However, when the Apple guys set the size of a portable device like that, they must have had in mind some really large pockets. Perhaps their thinking went something like this:

To make a long story short, I hope Jack will see my point and he’ll love using the Skooba bag. If not, this is the next present he’s going to get: a nice pair of “iPadded” jeans, just like these:

I must confess I’m yet to see anybody wearing that type of pants . And I’ll have to remember to take a pic of Jack when he’ll first see his present.

The cheap netbooks (<0) usually have the 3 cell battery that lasts for ~3 hours operation. Those with 6 cell battery last for ~6 hours.

iPad Hands On

If a meteorite did strike the house with an iPad inside, I’d use it for web/mail browsing around the house as well as book/manga reading/video watching while lazing on the bean bag in the lounge. If I had one when I was younger, I would have probably used it to store a load of health material away from mums prying eyes.
The most important thing however is that I would need one to test out the applications that we plan on releasing on the device.

Shame it doesn’t come with a forward facing camera as it would be excellent for a Skype unit.

iPhone App – C64 Camera

The C64 Camera app takes your normal pictures, or lets you take pictures (if you have an iPhone) and makes them look like something you’d see on the old Commodore 64 computer.

I ran these pictures through it – sometimes with dithering, sometimes without – whichever way made the image look better to me.

Good stuff… only 99 cents at the time of my uploading these images. Oh, and this creates high resolution image files, unlike a lot of other apps.

Haven’t decided if I’m going to get their Gameboy Camera effect app. If I do, I’m sure I’ll be uploading some examples from it as well.
